Jude Bellingham made his return from injury in Real Madrid’s win over Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday amid rumours of a feud between himself and his team-mates

Jude Bellingham has downplayed suggestions that he is feuding with his team-mates at Real Madrid.

Bellingham made his return from injury on Tuesday as Madrid beat Stuttgart in their opening Champions League game of the season. The midfielder has been ruled out since the opening day draw with Mallorca, missing all of Madrid’s games since then.

During his absence, rumours have emerged that Bellingham has been embroiled in a feud with team-mates Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo. All four started against Stuttgart on Tuesday.

Mbappe scored once, while Rodrygo notched an assist. And Bellingham’s reaction to the latter’s performance has put an end to the rumours that the duo had fallen out during the midfielder’s time on the sidelines.

He replied to the winger’s Instagram post celebrating the win by writing: “Only the fools forget the R.” Bellingham later cleared up the situation with Mbappe and Vinicius as well, insisting there was no problem there either.

The England international added: “I saw on social media that someone’s trying to create something negative between Mbappé, Rodrygo, Vinicius and me. The only truth is that we are very good friends on and off the pitch.”

Mbappe opened the scoring at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, converting from close range from Rodrygo’s cross. Deniz Undav equalised 22 minutes from time but Madrid claimed a late win thanks to goals from Antonio Rudiger and Endrick.

And it was French superstar Mbappe who earned the highest praise from Bellingham. He told TNT Sports: “It’s what he does, I’m not surprised at all. I didn’t even realise it was his debut, I just thought it’s another game he’ll score in.

“He always delivers so far, it’s a lot of pressure coming to a club like Madrid, but he’s taken to it really easily and the lads love him already. He’s going to be a huge player for us, this season and beyond.”
