The possibility of Manchester United offering Sofyan Amrabat a path back to Old Trafford by committing to a permanent transfer from Fiorentina is something that the club is giving serious consideration to.
Due to the fact that Erik ten Hag was unable to persuade Paris Saint-Germain to reduce their demands for Manuel Ugarte, he has been compelled to move on to other potential targets.
In their search for a new defensive midfielder, Manchester United has also been keeping an eye on Andre, Richard Rios, Youssouf Fofana, and Morten Hjulmand.
Having been unsuccessful in their efforts to persuade Paris Saint-Germain to sell Manuel Ugarte, Manchester United is currently considering whether or not to focus their efforts on bringing the star player from Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat, back to Old Trafford on a permanent basis. This decision comes after Manchester United was left feeling dissatisfied in their attempts to convince Paris Saint-Germain to sell Ugarte.

Since the summer transfer market opened for business, Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag has made two additions to his senior squad. The most costly purchase comes in the form of a teenage central defender named Leny Yoro, who was acquired from Lille, a Ligue 1 club, in a deal that was valued up to £58.9 million.

Joshua Zirkzee was also persuaded to join Manchester United in a £36.5million deal after guiding Bologna to Champions League qualification, but new sporting director Dan Ashworth has been forced to concentrate on alternative possibilities after being unable to get a deal over the line for Ugarte.

It is possible that the Red Devils will make a major transfer to Amrabat. Moroccan is considered to be the most achievable defensive midfield alternative.

Andre, Richard Rios, Youssouf Fofana, and Morten Hjulmand have also been identified as potential recruits as it is ten Hag’s goal to secure a defensive midfield partner for Kobbie Mainoo. According to GMS sources, Manchester United is seriously considering whether to make a huge U-turn and offer Amrabat a quickfire return to Old Trafford. In addition, Andre, Richard Rios, and Morten Hjulmand have also been identified as potential recruits.

The Red Devils have turned down the opportunity to keep the Morocco international when they had the chance to turn his loan switch into a permanent agreement worth a combined total of close to thirty million pounds. Despite this, there is still a possibility that he will return to familiar surroundings in the coming weeks of the transfer window.

GMS sources have been informed that Amrabat has been identified as the most attainable option as they seek an alternative to Ugarte, while ten Hag was happy with the way he performed during the latter stages of his temporary stay as he played a key role in Manchester United winning the FA Cup in May.

Recruiting the 27-year-old player, who made 30 appearances while wearing a Red Devils shirt during the 2023–24 season, is also considered to be an intriguing solution. This is due to the fact that he is familiar with the project that is being offered at Old Trafford and was content with the surroundings he found himself in when he left Fiorentina on loan.

GMS sources have learnt that Amrabat has always been in the picture as a possible acquisition, despite the fact that Manchester United ended the previous season with little intention of keeping him. He is now firmly in their sights after Paris Saint-Germain has refused to lower their demands for Ugarte as the deadline for the transfer of Ugarte draws closer.

They are want to highlight that they will no longer give in and pay over the odds for transfer targets after previously spent a lot of money on players like Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, and Antony. According to what GMS sources have been told, Manchester United has walked away from a potential deal for Ugarte because they are eager to emphasise that they will no longer do so.

In the past, the Uruguayan international was considered to be the first-choice defensive midfielder that ten Hag wanted to sign. However, the Red Devils have been unwilling to match his present valuation, and they will only consider resuming discussions if the current Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain, reduce his price tag.

The sources of GMS recently stated that Manchester United had high hopes that they would be able to purchase Ugarte for a reduced price when his present employers acquired Joao Neves from Benfica. However, this has not turned out to be the case, and they have been unable to obtain funds through the sale of Casemiro or Scott McTominay.

Andre is a player who the Red Devils regard to be a good-value choice; nevertheless, there have been concerns raised in the past about attracting him away from Fluminense. Rios, on the other hand, appears to be too pricey for the club because Palmeiras will not sell him for less than fifty million pounds because he has a release clause that is written into his contract that is worth eighty-four million pounds.

Even though GMS sources are aware that Manchester United has scouting reports on Monaco’s Fofana, it appears that he is going to complete a move to AC Milan. On the other hand, Sporting talisman Hjulmand is admired by key figures, but it will be difficult to secure him because he has a lucrative buyout option, and the Portuguese giants do not want to cash in on it.
