Official: Pedro Neto transfer completed by Chelsea

Pedro Neto, 24, signed a seven-year contract to join Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth £54 million.
The Chelsea Blues have announced that they have signed Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers in an official statement posted on their website. With the West London club, the 24-year-old has inked a seven-year deal that will expire on June 30, 2031. On Sunday, Chelsea unveiled the winger to the supporters at Stamford Bridge.

After the transfer, which reportedly cost Chelsea £54 million, was completed, Neto showed his happiness. The Portuguese international expressed his gratitude upon joining the team. I’m excited to wear this shirt on the pitch because I’ve worked really hard to earn this opportunity in my career.

The narrative of Pedro Neto
Ever since moving from Lazio to Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2019, Pedro Neto has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top young wingers. Despite having fitness concerns throughout his time with the Black Country team, the 24-year-old left his imprint every time he on the pitch.

In 24 games across all competitions, the Portuguese international scored three goals and provided eleven assists, putting him in the driver’s seat for the 2023–24 campaign. It is therefore not shocking that a number of prominent teams considered hiring Pedro Neto during the summer transfer window.

Neto prepared for his upcoming journey
Pedro Neto has reportedly been connected to Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City. But earlier this week, Chelsea made a surprise move to sign him from Wolverhampton Wanderers, blowing away the rivals. According to the BBC’s most recent update, a £54 million deal has been agreed upon.

Chelsea will pay £51.3 million in base fees, with add-ons covering the entire balance. Though the Portuguese international’s connections to the West London club are puzzling, he has the ability to surpass the lacklustre trio of Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke.

Madueke and Sterling have reportedly been linked to moves away from Stamford Bridge in recent reports. Regarding Neto, it will be intriguing to watch if the 24-year-old winger at Chelsea can rise to the top and establish himself as one of the league’s greatest players.
