Following the completion of the purchase of Pedro Neto, a winger for Wolves, Chelsea may opt to trim their already large roster. Neto is expected to be the Blues’ eighth window arrival as they continue their scattergun strategy in the summer market.

According to reports, Chelsea is almost done with Neto’s acquisition in a deal that will cost about £54 million. The 24-year-old reportedly has resolved on personal terms and is eager to move to Stamford Bridge; a medical examination is scheduled over the next few days.

A few players may depart before the window closes because Neto’s entrance will knock a few others down the ladder. With Neto probably going right into Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup, Noni Madueke is one of the players who might find it difficult to get any playing time.

Although the former PSV player has already been connected to Newcastle, nothing is now thought to be imminent. But if Neto signs with Chelsea, a move to Tyneside would become more popular, particularly given the persistent whispers of Liverpool’s interest in Anthony Gordon.

To earn cash and create room for new players in the attacking positions, Chelsea may also choose to sell up to three attackers. There are still rumours that Armando Broja wants to leave Stamford Bridge, and several Premier League teams are reportedly interested.

According to the Daily Mail, Broja and Maresca are scheduled to have confrontational meetings to decide if Broja’s interests might be better served elsewhere. The Albanian striker, who played the second part of the last campaign on loan at Fulham, is reportedly very interested in joining Everton and Wolves.

Another player who might depart Chelsea this summer is David Datro Fofana, a 20-year-old who is unlikely to participate in many Premier League games the next year. Although he has been connected to a possible transfer to Galatasaray, Leicester City is reportedly the team most interested in signing him.

Romelu Lukaku’s terrible second stint at Stamford Bridge will hopefully come to an end, and Chelsea will be hoping to move him at some point. Lukaku’s future is uncertain as Napoli and the Blues have been in negotiations for a transfer for some weeks, but they have not been able to close a deal.

Additionally, it has been suggested that Unai Emery of Aston Villa may give the Belgian forward another chance to play in the Premier League. Though there isn’t much time left to avoid being trapped with him until at least January, only time will tell if Chelsea can complete his departure.
