Breaking News: Former United boss Solskjaer sensational Premier League return with new club - Done Deal

Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could return to the Premier League as Leicester City’s new head coach.

According to The Sun, the 51-year-old has been in communication with the Foxes over taking the management post.

Enzo Maresca led the East Midlands team to an immediate top-flight return but he has since taken leadership at Chelsea.

Leicester are now attempting to recruit a replacement for Maresca and think Solskjaer to be a strong fit.

The Norwegian manager is reportedly eager to take on the task of ensuring that the Foxes play in the Premier League the following year.

He is thought to be very highly respected by club chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha and nearly lost out on the role last summer when they chose Maresca.

After Jose Mourinho was fired in December 2018, Solskjaer assumed interim leadership of Manchester United.

His instant influence at Old Trafford persuaded management to offer him a long-term deal. In his debut season, he led United to a third-place result.

Under Solskjaer, the Red Devils finished second to Manchester City the next season, but he was fired following a poor 2021–2022 campaign.

Since then, the 51-year-old has been approached by multiple managers, but he has shown no interest in any of them.
