After spending six months at Chelsea in 2023, Joao Felix has already expressed his opinions about the Blues in the event that he returns to Stamford Bridge.

Joao Felix, a Portuguese international, expressed how much he liked his time at Stamford Bridge during his first stint with the Blues, and it appears that he may be returning to Chelsea this summer.

Felix joined Chelsea on loan in January 2023 and stayed for six months. He might, however, be returning to the Blues, according to rumours, as their attempt to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Samu Omorodion was unsuccessful.

Under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, the offensive midfielder had a mixed career in west London. When new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino took over, he chose not to sign a permanent contract. However, Felix was captured bragging about his time with Chelsea back in May 2023, saying, “I really like to be here.”

“I don’t know yet my future but these four or five months I’ve loved it,” Felix continued. “It’s a top club, everyone in the club is very good to me, my teammates are unbelievable and I really like to be here.” Felix scored four goals in 20 appearances for the Blues.

Felix’s improbable return to Chelsea may now be imminent after a £34.5 million agreement to transfer Omorodion to Stamford Bridge appears to have fallen through. The player may actually be returning to Chelsea for a second term, according to reports, but both teams have continued to negotiate since they need to unload players to help finance other transactions.

Felix was loaned to Barcelona in 2023 after his brief spell at Stamford Bridge. The Benfica player had a successful stint with the Spanish powerhouse, making 30 appearances and scoring in both of the team’s matches against his parent company to help lead Barca to a second-place La Liga result.

Felix, who joined Atletico from Benfica for £113 million in the summer of 2019, is still the fourth most expensive player of all time. This summer, he has also been linked to Aston Villa. The youngster’s transition to Spain went successfully, as evidenced by his multiple accolades, which included the 2022 Atletico player of the season award.

But Felix soon had his opportunities at the Metropolitano limited after a breakdown in his relationship with manager Diego Simeone. According to El Mundo Deportivo, a Spanish publication, the forward’s chances of playing again under Simeone are now “not negotiable.”

Felix would be the latest addition to Chelsea’s roster in a summer full of signings if he were to return this summer. Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea has been a force in the market after acquiring players like Pedro Neto, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, Estevao Willian, Tosin Adarabioyo, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Omari Kellyman.
