Evans shares Hojlund’s instant reaction after concerning Man Utd injury

Erik ten Hag will be particularly concerned about the two injuries that Manchester United sustained in their first preseason game against Arsenal during their tour of the United States.

Jonny Evans, a defender for Manchester United, has intimated that the injuries suffered by Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro may be more serious than first thought.

In their first preseason friendly of their US tour, United was defeated by Arsenal. However, manager Erik ten Hag was unconcerned about the defeat because both Yoro and Hojlund were forced off with potentially dangerous injuries.

Six minutes after he scored the first goal with a masterful display of individual brilliance, Hojlund walked off and disappeared down the tunnel, seemingly suffering from a hamstring injury.

Yoro, United’s most expensive summer acquisition at £59 million, appeared to have suffered a muscle injury with 33 minutes remaining in the match, adding to Ten Hag’s injury worries.

The Frenchman appeared quite upset and in need of consolation from teammates as he pulled up and gestured to the bench. Scan results will be obtained shortly, therefore it is unclear how severe the injuries are. Evans, though, insisted that preventing injuries during the preseason is crucial.

“Injuries are the last thing you want, especially in the preseason. One of the most important things to strive to prevent is that, Evans added. “Muscle strains are not good, and Rasmus suggested that his hamstring was injured. Regarding Leny, I’m not sure yet. I hope everything turns out well.”

Evans proved his value to the team the previous season and inked a one-year contract extension this summer. Evans was signed as a backup, but due to Ten Hag’s squad’s prodigious injury list, he ended up making thirty games and winning another FA Cup.

The 14 different centre-back pairings Ten Hag used in the previous season best illustrated the extent of the destruction. Additionally, Evans may play yet another crucial backup position given the recent blows to United’s injury roster.

A probable double injury blow serves as a timely reminder that United still needs to strengthen their attacking and defensive ranks. Ten Hag recently urged United’s management to support the team during the summer transfer window, saying that with a busy schedule making it harder to win awards, it’s simply a matter of “survival of the fittest.”
