The future of Julian Alvarez remains uncertain as defender Yan Couto left the team for the Bundesliga in a £25 million deal.

The Argentinean’s future may not be at Manchester United because Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have expressed interest in him. According to MEN, Germain has already contacted City about Alvarez. PSG has not yet formally approached anyone.

The 24-year-old, who represented his country in both the Copa America and the Olympics this summer, is reportedly the target of City’s Premier League opponents. With Argentina’s elimination from the competition, a transfer may now be conceivable. The forward is reportedly valued by Pep Guardiola’s team at roughly £80 million. However, this might be too much for the Gunners, who have already signed defender Riccardo Calafiori and goalkeeper David Raya, who spent last season on loan at Mikel Arteta’s team.

This season, Arsenal and City are predicted to contend for the Premier League title once more. However, in recent years, players have been known to relocate from east Manchester to north London; Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus are two examples of those who have done so.

Since Arteta lacks a true goal scorer for Arsenal, Alvarez’s acquisition may be the last piece in the puzzle needed to help Arteta win the Premier League for the first time.

Following City’s 4-2 victory against Chelsea on Saturday, Guardiola talked about the matter and stated of Alvarez, “No news.” I am at a loss for words. He’ll return. I rely on him, but according to the news, decisions will be taken together. He needs to relax for now, and he will return when he is ready.

“When he returns, I’m sure to give him a hug and congratulate him on his success in the Olympics and Copa America, and we’ll get to work.” This is how things really are. I have a gazillion things on my mind regarding the team in the interim.

Defendant departs for Germany with promise
Yan Couto, a defender for City, has left the team to join Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan, with the option to purchase him out for over £25 million should they choose to make the transfer permanent the following summer.

After spending £5.5 million to join the Cityzens from Coritiba in 2019, the 22-year-old has not played much because of loan stints at Girona and Braga. During his two seasons at Girona, the Brazilian played 34 La Liga games and helped the team earn its first-ever UEFA Champions League berth.
