As the Manchester United team plans to make significant personnel changes in front of the upcoming season, manager Erik ten Hag has spoken out about Scott McTominay’s future.

With ten goals in all competitions, McTominay finished the previous season as United’s third-joint top scorer after making 27 appearances.



A big transfer outflow of Red Devil players ahead of the upcoming season is reportedly imminent, with double digits of players anticipated to leave Old Trafford.


According to the same rumours, McTominay, who spent eight arduous seasons with Manchester United, may be one of those names.

The manager, ten Hag, quickly refuted the speculations, stating, “There will always be interest from other clubs because we have very good players.”

“There will be attention when you perform exceptionally well for Scotland and score ten goals in a season.

But because he is a vital member of our team, we wish to retain him.

“He is a very intriguing player for our team, and we saw last season that he could play in a more advanced role once we had our sixes available.”

Ten Hag was commenting following his team’s opening victory of the preseason.

Joe Hugill and Amad Diallo both scored goals as the Red Devils defeated the Rangers 2-0.

The Dutchman continued, “We want to have a strong squad, as strong as possible, and I think at this moment the football leadership is on the front foot,” in response to additional questions about the transfer market.
