According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Ruben Amorim, the new head coach, “loves” two Manchester United players and will assemble his squad around them.

Erik ten Hag, who was fired by Manchester United following their heartbreaking 2-1 loss to West Ham last month, has been replaced by Amorim.

The 39-year-old is thought to be among the world’s top young managers. Sporting Lisbon has won their first eleven games this season, and he has assisted them in winning the Primeira Liga twice since 2020.

Before they hired Arne Slot and Julen Lopetegui, Amorim was linked to West Ham and Liverpool in the summer. Nevertheless, Manchester United was the Premier League team that signed him, acting swiftly and forcefully to do so.

The former Sporting manager has a big job at Manchester United, where he formally took over last week. Ahead of their travel to play Ipswich Town on Sunday, they are now in 13th place in the Premier League.

Amorim will at least aim for European qualification this season, and the Red Devils have a team that can contend for the Champions League.

According to a Romano report ahead of his first game as manager, Amorim “loves” academy product Kobbie Mainoo and summer acquisition Leny Yoro.

On his YouTube channel, Romano stated that “Kobbie Mainoo is an essential player for Manchester United owners, directors, and staff.”

“Ruben Amorim adores players like these.” He wants to steer Manchester United in the right way with players like Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro.

Therefore, in the upcoming weeks and months, Mainoo’s new contract will be a significant topic. Man Utd continues to work on it.

“Although we are not yet at the end, the dialogue is still going on and is still constructive from the player and club perspectives.”

In addition to having a breakout season and excelling for England at Euro 2024, Mainoo was one of the Premier League’s most notable players last season.

In the meanwhile, Yoro was one of Manchester United’s first summer acquisitions, as they defeated Real Madrid in the competition to pay almost £52 million to capture the highly regarded 19-year-old.

Due to a foot ailment, the centre-back has not yet played for Manchester United this season. Nevertheless, Romano asserted last week that Amorim views Yoro as “one of the most interesting players to develop at Man Utd.”

“Leny Yoro is one of the most intriguing players to develop for Man United’s long-term project, according to Ruben Amorim and his staff,” Romano stated.

The club views him as a generational talent, and Amorim and his team wholeheartedly concur.

“Yoro is also nearing the end of his full recovery.”
