During England’s last pre-Euros match against Iceland, Kobbie Mainoo made his debut, and the Three Lions’ 1-0 Wembley loss did not go over well with supporters.

Kobbie Mainoo, a wonderkid for Manchester United, is adamant that England must show themselves in the wake of their heartbreaking loss to Iceland.

At Wembley on Friday night, the Three Lions were defeated 1-0 by Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson’s excellent goal, which was more than enough for the visitors. Following a loss, England will now travel to Germany for the Euros.

They have only won one of their last five games going into the competition next week, which is a troubling run of form for them. Some of the crowd even jeered Gareth Southgate’s team off the pitch, indicating how unhappy they were.

During the match, Mainoo, 19, received his third cap for the team. The midfielder for Manchester United thinks that England has a lot to show their supporters now. When asked if the loss to Iceland had affected the mood in the locker room, he said, “Not at all!

“Now that we have demonstrated to the supporters that we are capable of competing in Germany, we only need to show them how good we are in the dressing room. Entering a competition just after a loss can, in my opinion, be advantageous. We truly have a point to prove to ourselves now that we know we’re capable of much better and play much better football.

It was humbling, and we now need to unite. We need to unite and muster the will to enter the first game with a sense of purpose and prove ourselves. We have a chip on our shoulder.

“I believe that even if we don’t win, we still learn. Any opportunity to learn is worthwhile, and this is a better time to do so than in nine days.

With a win over Iceland, Mainoo will be hoping to secure a starting spot at the European Championship. Following an outstanding breakout season, the Man United sensation has been chosen in the Three Lions team for the tournament.

Graeme Souness, a former Liverpool player, has asserted that the young player is not prepared for the team. “Mainoo, the young boy, is coming through,” said Simon Jordan, the former member of Crystal Palace, to his podcast co-host. With minimal delay, Souness said, “Not ready yet… you would say [to] play for England?”

England’s Euro campaign begins next Sunday when they play Serbia. In their next two group games, they play Slovenia and Denmark, and they will undoubtedly aim to do well enough to advance to the knockout stages.
