Breaking News: Mikel Arteta nightmare as another Arsenal star injured ahead of Nottingham Forest

Mikel Arteta has received some unfavourable news ahead of this weekend’s match against Nottingham Forest, and Arsenal has not had the best experience with injuries during international breaks.

Leandro Trossard was taken off for Belgium vs Israel

The withdrawal of Leandro Trossard for Belgium has given Arsenal a new injury concern.

The Gunners winger was included in his nation’s starting lineup for Sunday’s match against Israel. But it was not a long evening for him. In the 37th minute, Trossard was substituted by fellow countryman Johan Bakayoko.

Before he eventually withdrew, the Arsenal player was moving a little awkwardly, but it was originally unclear what was bothering him. This season, Trossard, 29, has made 15 appearances for Arsenal and scored twice.

Given that the North Londoners have suffered from a number of injuries this season, a long-term problem would be Mikel Arteta’s worst nightmare. Only recently has captain Martin Odegaard returned to action after suffering a major injury during the September break.

But as a precaution, the Norwegian playmaker left his country’s most recent team. Odegaard gave the following explanation for his choice: “I made it through the match over the weekend, but it was a pretty sudden change from the previous nine weeks.

“You don’t just go from being hurt to being fully recovered in this kind of process. What happens usually causes you to have a reaction, and how you respond to that reaction is what matters. After discussing it with the NFF’s medical staff, we decided that it would be best for me to return and fully heal.

“Our conversation was pleasant and candid. Ever since I was hurt, and obviously more recently, I have been speaking with Ståle.This has nothing to do with what Ståle has said or what Arsenal has stated.d. It concerns the circumstances that IS.

“Yes, [It’s my option], but after consulting with the Norwegian medical staff. We both agree on this, but in the end, I made the decision based on what I know the body requires.”

Arsenal already has a number of injury problems outside of Trossard and Odegaard. After developing problems before to the international break, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka opted out of playing for England.

Kieran Tierney, Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Ben White, all defenders, are also out at the moment. This weekend, Arsenal will play Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.
