The most recent round of international matches has forced Manchester United to take a break, but everyone’s eyes are still on Ruben Amorim’s debut game as manager against Ipswich.

At last, Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim era is underway.

Last month, the former Sporting Lisbon manager was announced as Erik ten Hag’s successor. Since then, he has seen several of his stars and flown to the UK to meet club officials.

As the lead-up to his first game in charge gets underway, Amorim still has time to express his thoughts. Next weekend, the Red Devils play freshly promoted Ipswich.

And Amorim will be eager to maintain that momentum in light of the excellent work done by interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Check out all of Old Trafford’s most recent headlines:

Demand from Amorim
During his time at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim has advised his new stars that they “must have fun.” Some of the stars that stayed behind during the international break were met by the Portuguese when they returned at Carrington earlier this week.

Along with a number of academy players, he greeted Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Lenny Yoro, and Toby Collyer. “We have to have fun,” he remarked in a brief speech to those players, adding that he was “thrilled” to have made it at last.

Amorim has been unable to attend any training sessions even though he has already begun to get his feet under the table. In order to fully start working on turning around the club’s problems, the Portuguese coach is still awaiting his work visa.

Van Nistelrooy was capable of making a U-turn.
Burnley may consider Ruud van Nistelrooy as he looks to return to management immediately. After learning that he would not be joining Amorim’s staff, the former United striker quit Old Trafford.

Only in the summer did van Nistelrooy return, serving as Erik ten Hag’s assistant. He declined a move to Burnley in the process.

Scott Parker was ultimately chosen by the Clarets. Van Nistelrooy, however, is probably going to be at the top of the list if they decide to make a change, and he might agree to a transfer to Turf Moor this time.

During his brief tenure, Van Nistelrooy managed four games across all competitions, winning three of them, including two against Leicester.

Rooney is ignored by Ratcliffe.
In the merciless cost-cutting measures of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Wayne Rooney will not be going back to Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial position has already been terminated by the United minority owner.

The team’s all-time top scorer, Rooney, had been supported as a candidate for a comparable position. However, the Daily Star claims that Ratcliffe has ruled out former players rejoining the team, so that won’t be happening.

Rooney is the manager of Plymouth, a Championship team, at the moment. The team has only won four of their first 15 games of the season, placing them in 18th place in the standings.
