Breaking News: Scott McTominay makes fresh Manchester United transfer admission amid Napoli decision

After being permitted to depart Old Trafford this summer, the former Manchester United midfielder and Academy graduate is flourishing with the Serie A table-toppers.

Scott McTominay, a former midfielder for Manchester United, believes he hasn’t looked back since deciding to leave the team where he spent 22 years of his life.

The 27-year-old was adored by Old Trafford fans because, although playing for United at one of its darkest periods, he frequently personified the squad’s ethos of battling for the title that Sir Alex Ferguson and other legendary managers before him instilled in the team.

Naturally, this was instilled in McTominay from the time he entered the club’s development system at the age of five. He went on to make 255 senior games.

He had 171 appearances in their starting lineup, but under Erik ten Hag, his playing time was decreasing. With just a year remaining on his contract, he had to decide whether to further commit to the next phase of his career or, in the end, look for a new challenge both nationally and overseas.

“For myself, my family, and my friends, it was a big decision. In situations like that, you simply have to ask yourself, “Do I want to do it?” Go for it, of course,” he told the Press Association (PA).

The fans of Napoli had welcomed him to Italy with the same fervour that they had shown him so frequently in Manchester. His third goal for the team last weekend was an equaliser against Inter Milan to keep Napoli in first place in Serie A.

He said, “There’s no looking back.” “In my life and work, I have never had any regrets, and I will remain that way to this day. In order to achieve my goal of becoming the best football player and person I can be, I will go above and beyond to make my career successful.”
