Callum Osmand joined Celtic as Brendan Rodgers’ fifth acquisition of the summer.

The 19-year-old former Fulham striker is certainly a Celtic prospect for the future, and with two games into the new season, supporters have yet to see Osmand in action.

When word spread that Celtic wanted Osmand, Fulham fans were devastated at the prospect of losing one of their top young prospects.

And it’s easy to understand why, given what Osmand did against Clyde last night in Celtic B’s superb 3-1 away triumph.

Celtic’s Callum Osmand’s ‘fast pace’ has destroyed Osmand started for Celtic B in their first KDM Evolution Trophy game against Clyde last night.

And what the teenager achieved in just 12 minutes effectively ended the contest, as Celtic ran out comfortable winners.

On the 9th minute, Celtic B’s official X account tweeted, “The home side are reduced to 10 men after Callum Osmand shows rapid pace to try to break in behind, before being brought down.”

Osmand’s impact was instant, as he put pressure on Clyde with his blistering pace. But the Celtic kid didn’t stop there.

Osmand scored his first goal for the Green and White Hoops in the 12th minute, as Celtic B tweeted, “Callum Osmand fires Celtic in front with a tidy finish, after a clever pass in behind from Donovan.”

Osmand’s performance and influence will boost the young Celtic striker’s confidence as he sends a message to Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers that he will not be overlooked this season as the Bhoys hunt for a spark up front.

Brendan Rodgers told Callum Osmand about his Celtic role.
When Osmand joined Celtic, it was widely assumed that he was a development player for the club.

But what did Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers think?

After signing his contract, Osmand stated, “He simply wants me to offer enthusiasm.

“Bring what I am good at. Don’t modify my game, really.

“I feel like I have the qualities to come and show what I can do, so just keep playing my football, and then he is going to help me with little bits.”

I believe it is fair to say that Osmand made a strong Celtic B debut last night.
