Chaos in Greece: Hezze’s Controversial Red Card Sparks Outrage at Olympiakos
Drama erupted in the Greek Super League after Olympiakos player Hezze was given a straight red card in stunning circumstances, despite the fact that replay footage clearly showed Casado grabbing him with both hands around his body.
The decision startled everyone. Olympiakos players mobbed the referee in disbelief, as the fans booed. On the touchline, the manager absolutely lost his cool, shouting furiously:
“Hey, what are we doing?! What’s going on! “Where is VAR?!”
In one of the more bizarre moments of the night, Hezze refused to go down the tunnel after being sent off. Instead, he sat at the front of the tunnel, laughing in bewilderment at the referee’s decision – a tableau that perfectly captured the commotion on the pitch.
The event has already stirred debate on social media, with fans labelling it “one of the worst refereeing decisions of the season.”
