Conor Gallagher’s constant selection by England has put pressure on the Stamford Bridge administration to retain him, according to Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino. Although Pochettino loves the Blues star, there have been strong rumours of a transfer to help the Premier League club out of its Financial Fair Play situation.

Gallagher, despite Chelsea’s recent 18-month spate of high-profile midfield additions, has started all 26 of the Premier League games for which he has been eligible. In Reece James’ absence, the 24-year-old has even assumed the captaincy.

Therefore, some have been perplexed by Chelsea’s hierarchy’s willingness to profit from the well-liked academy graduate. The Blues have eased their financial constraints by selling a number of players who rose through the youth ranks, as their transfer fees are recorded in the club’s books as “pure profit.”

Nonetheless, Pochettino is a great fan of Gallagher and is unlikely to be opposed to the England international being sold. It’s possible that Gallagher’s future will cause conflict between the Argentine and his managers in the summer because Chelsea is unlikely to reject a bid of more than £50 million.

Speaking extensively about Gallagher’s dedication, Pochettino explained why the player is frequently included in England squads. It also explains why his club manager finds him to be so important.

“His unwavering dedication of 200 percent is winning over the England manager.” Gallagher needs to continue giving his all on stage, Pochettino stated on Friday.

“The ability to always be ready to fight and help, then show his quality, is one of his best skills.”

Earlier in the season, Gallagher acknowledged that he had doubts about his Chelsea future after last summer. The former Crystal Palace loanee was linked to Tottenham and West Ham, but former head coach Thomas Tuchel did not think highly of him. Pochettino at last guaranteed him a spot at Chelsea.

“I wasn’t sure before I met Pochettino because there was a lot going on at the club—so many players were coming in and going out. prior to the start of the preseason with the coach, and he simply seemed to click with me as a player and think highly of me, Gallagher remarked.

We get along well, and things kind of continued from there. The preseason was great for me in terms of playing games, which I didn’t do as much of the previous season. I couldn’t wait to work with him, remain at Chelsea, and win over more supporters and the team this season.
