Victor Osimhen is now Chelsea’s primary aim to enhance their attacking prowess, and this will remain unchanged until the conclusion of the summer transfer season.

Recent weeks have seen ongoing communication with Napoli, and it has been revealed that significant progress was achieved at the most recent meeting.

Nevertheless, there is a substantial amount of work to be done, considering the magnitude of the operation. In order to get Victor Osimhen for their team in London, Chelsea is offering not only money but also proposing a trade involving Romelu Lukaku and another player. The players being considered for this trade include Kepa Arrizabalaga, Trevoh Chalobah, and Cesare Casadei.

Until recently, Italian midfielder Casadei was the favoured choice, along with the Belgian striker. However, the Spanish custodian is gradually gaining prominence.

Napoli has notified their present custodian, Alex Meret, that they are willing to consider his departure if a reasonable offer is made. Several Spanish teams have already obtained relevant information in this regard.

In addition, the Italian club has already reached out to Kepa’s representatives, since it is anticipated that his time at Chelsea will come to a close in the near future.

Ultimately, Kepa, who was loaned to Real Madrid last season, will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season. Chelsea will be cautious about the potential financial loss they may incur on the custodian, who holds the record for being the most expensive in the world.

As previously stated in the earlier articles about the Osimhen deal, the negotiation process will not be swift, and the involved parties are expected to continue discussions until the final days of the transfer market. The aim is to reach an agreement on the amount of money involved in the deal, considering that Chelsea is unwilling to exceed €60m and is also seeking to include two players in the transaction.

Chelsea is now in search of a new striker to sign.
Chelsea have already made acquisitions of nine new players this summer, with the most recent addition being Pedro Neto from Wolves over the weekend.

Nevertheless, they are actively seeking a top-tier center-forward, a category that Osimhen undeniably falls under.

After transferring from Lille to Napoli in 2020, the Nigerian forward has netted 76 goals in 133 matches, and achieved the title of Serie A champion in 2023.

However, Napoli’s athletic director Giovanni Manna recently stated his desire for him to go, indicating that his time there may soon come to an end.

Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to go from the club. “He desires to depart,” Manna said.

“The problem is evident, there were already opportunities for his departure last summer… Victor desires to depart.

“We will ascertain within the upcoming 20 days.”

Due to Lukaku’s connection with Napoli head coach Antonio Conte and his previous experience in Serie A with Inter and Roma, it has always been probable that he may move in the opposite direction.

In order for Chelsea to get a good agreement in the Osimhen trade, they are currently negotiating the inclusion of a second player, with Kepa being the main focus at the moment.
