Manchester United has been associated with Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise for a considerable period, and Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the Red Devils’ endeavor to acquire the winger.

This summer marks a significant moment for the Manchester club, as it is the first under the supervision of their new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe. He must now focus on addressing several crucial aspects within Erik ten Hag’s team.

According to Fabrizio Romano on today’s episode of CaughtOffside’s The Debrief Podcast, Manchester United has not yet contacted Michael Olise or his team, despite the expectation that Jadon Sancho will leave and Olise is being considered as a replacement for the winger at Old Trafford.

Other clubs will also be interested in the Crystal Palace player this summer, and despite it being March, the Premier League heavyweights may contemplate making an early move for the 22-year-old.

Romano responded by stating that he cannot provide a guarantee about whether or not Manchester United will pursue Olise as their first signing this summer.

“I am currently awaiting Man United’s direct communication regarding their plans. While he is one of the players they are interested in, they have not yet initiated any concrete discussions to progress this deal.”

“Although it is currently March, there is already evident interest.”

Olise’s performances in the Premier League in recent seasons have attracted the attention of numerous clubs. However, his injury history is a cause for concern.

The winger has been absent for a significant portion of this season due to recurring hamstring problems, which potential suitors should take into consideration.

In general, the 22-year-old is an exceptional talent and it will be intriguing to observe his growth if he joins a club with a stronger group of players.
