TRANSFER FINALISED: Arsenal has successfully secured the transfer of an £80 million player, surpassing competition from City and Liverpool. The player has accepted Arsenal’s offering, with the deal anticipated to be concluded within the next 24 hours. Congratulations to Arsenal supporters.

Arsenal is apparently poised to acquire Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, according to the Daily Mail.

Since transferring to the Emirates Stadium from Atletico Madrid, Thomas Partey has consistently served as the primary holding midfielder in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup.

Jorginho was acquired few years ago to assist the Ghanaian. Both players are in the concluding months of their contracts, and given their advanced professional stages, the Gunners are strategising to rejuvenate this position.

The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal want to strengthen their midfield by acquiring Zubimendi, having pursued him for more than a year.

Liverpool attempted to get him last summer; however, the player ultimately declined the transfer to Anfield in order to remain at his childhood club. Arsenal has achieved a significant advancement in this transaction, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the player has already consented to transfer to the Emirates Stadium, aided by Arteta’s influential role in convincing him to join the club.

Zubimendi to Arsenal
The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal is engaged in advanced negotiations to acquire the Spain international and ‘will formally activate’ his £51 million release clause. Arteta’s team seeks to finalise the agreement promptly; nevertheless, La Real is reluctant to part with the player during the current season, thus he is expected to transfer at the conclusion of this campaign.

Manchester City expressed interest in acquiring him as a replacement for Rodri, who sustained a season-ending knee injury; nevertheless, the Gunners are poised to outmanoeuvre two Premier League rivals to finalise the agreement. Ben Jacobs asserts that the Gunners have ‘terms negotiated’ with Zubimendi, indicating that a transaction is nearing finalisation.

The Spaniard has been a pivotal figure for Real Sociedad after progressing through their development system. He is presently among the premier midfielders in La Liga and has established his position in the starting lineup of the Spain national team due to Rodri’s injury absence.

The 25-year-old possesses technical proficiency and serves as an ideal deep-lying playmaker for Arteta’s possession-oriented approach. He excels at delivering threaded passes between the lines, effectively plays out against high-pressing teams, and demonstrates proficiency in safeguarding the back four.

Consequently, he would represent a significant acquisition for the North London club if they ultimately succeed in obtaining his services.
