There is still a lot of work to be done before Manchester United’s season opener against Fulham, which is in little over two weeks.

On Friday, August 16, the Red Devils will play Marco Silva’s team at Old Trafford. After gaining Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ongoing support, Erik ten Hag will be hoping to make a big impression.

Manchester United has already made a number of noteworthy transfers. Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee have signed lucrative contracts, and it doesn’t seem like their spending binge will end there.

Ten Hag is still searching for fresh talent; his wish list includes a midfielder and a right-back. If Ten Hag is successful in securing all of his targets, this is a possible starting lineup.

It is anticipated that Andre Onana will start in goal for United against Fulham. According to the Mirror, Onana had a difficult first season at Old Trafford after joining from Inter Milan, but he got better as the season went on and is not likely to leave.

But there might be alterations in store for the defending group in front of him. According to German rumours, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has consented to a transfer to West Ham, a rival team in the Premier League.

The former Crystal Palace player is thought to have reached a personal agreement with the Hammers; however, a deal still needs to be finalised by the clubs. Ten Hag intends to find a replacement as soon as the deal is finalised.

Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich is allegedly close to joining Manchester United. He may challenge Diogo Dalot for the right-back spot.

At Old Trafford, Mazraoui might also partner up with Matthijs de Ligt, his present teammate. Yoro was just signed, but his metatarsal injury will prevent him from playing in the season opening, therefore another signing might be necessary.

Under Ten Hag, Lisandro Martinez is anticipated to be a consistent starter if healthy, while Luke Shaw should be able to play the entire season on the left side.

The midfield of Manchester United may possibly have a new face. Negotiations are still continuing on for PSG’s Manuel Ugarte, who has been touted as a key addition.

If the agreement is finalised, Ugarte is expected to take Casemiro’s place, who has been connected to a move abroad. On the first day, Kobbie Mainoo, who has quickly gained popularity after making an impression for both Manchester United and England recently, ought to be given an opportunity.

Bruno Fernandes, a Portuguese master, is anticipated to complete the midfield. He will probably be one of the first names on the squad sheet because he is the Red Devils’ captain.

There should be a new face in the offensive lineup. It appears like Joshua Zirkzee will lead the attack, especially considering Rasmus Hojlund’s recent injury setback.

The Danish attacker is unlikely to play in the season opener, but his absence will not be as extensive as that of teammate Yoro. Zirkzee will be flanked by a few additional familiar faces.

Marcus Rashford had a full sabbatical after not being included in England’s summer squad. He did, however, have a small injury during the preseason, but he should be ready to play when the season begins.

On the right wing, Ten Hag has a decision that is a little more difficult. Alejandro Garnacho is a less traditional option; Antony is not accessible.

This might open doors for Amad, who has shown promise in the preseason thus far. Despite rumours of another loan move, the Ivorian winger has stated that he plans to stay at Old Trafford for the upcoming season.
