Ed Sheeran’s interruption of manager Ruben Amorim’s Sky Sports interview has infuriated Manchester United supporters.

The 33-year-old Shape Of You singer walked up as Ruben, 39, offered his post-match comments after his team’s Sunday 1-1 tie with Ipswich.

Presenter Kelly Cates interrupted Ruben’s interview to comment on Ed’s sudden presence following his embrace of 51-year-old pundit Jamie Redknapp.

Kelly informed Ed, “Ruben might not want to talk to an Ipswich fan,” implying that it was not the greatest time for him to show up.

Jamie shook the Perfect popstar’s hand and courteously rushed him away, telling him to “say a hello in a minute” and “have a chat” later.

On X, Ed’s intrusion went down like a lead balloon, with @TheoCartz fuming: ‘Embarrassing from Sky as always!! Inconsiderate of the gaffer. midway through the initial interview with him. I would never speak to them again!

“Sky Sports is unprofessional,” yelled @Chipsricefood.

@adam_couser echoed their sentiment, saying: “It’s so incredibly disrespectful.”

“Very rude!” @andrews208619 added. He was eager to go greet Redknapp before he finished. At one of Jamie’s performances, I don’t recall him leaping on stage to greet the audience.

After claiming that Sir Bob Geldof did not have his “permission” to use his vocals in the 40th anniversary mix of Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” Ed made an appearance on Sky Sports.

In relation to another post that criticized foreign aid in Africa, he recently disclosed that he would have “respectfully” rejected to appear in the updated version of the charity song.

In a recent interview, Sir Bob responded to the remarks by telling The Sunday Times: “This little pop song has kept millions of people alive.”

“Why would Band Aid stop providing food for thousands of children who rely on us?”

Ed might be practicing his guitar elsewhere in preparation for a 2025 Glastonbury comeback.
