Celtic were reportedly interested in signing the Manchester City player this summer.
Everton defeated Celtic in their chase of Jack Grealish, who joined the Merseyside club on loan this week, according to sources.

The Hoops are looking for striking reinforcements after losing Nicolas Kuhn to Como and Jota’s long-term injury. Grealish has fallen out of favour at Manchester City, but his talent is undeniable following stints with Aston Villa, the Citizens, and the England national team.

It would fall well into the ambitious category, but according to the Telegraph, Celtic attempted to pull off a coup by luring Grealish north. Napoli, the reigning Serie A champions, were also believed to be involved, but according to the story, Everton eventually overcame the Premier League champions.

Jack Grealish to Celtic transfer rumours
It states: “Grealish vacationed with family in Positano, Italy, near Naples, as well as other resorts on the Amalfi Coast. It only served to fuel speculation that he will join Napoli under Antonio Conte. Grealish was of interest to the Italian champions, but they were always unable to pay him. Celtic also inquired in a transaction, but Everton was ahead of the line.”

Grealish spoke on his move to Everton: “I’m over the moon to have signed for Everton – it’s enormous for me, honestly. This is a fantastic club with a huge following. The moment I spoke with the manager, I knew there was only one location I wanted to go. On social media, I’ve received a deluge of messages from Everton supporters, which is another reason I chose Everton.

“I’d want to thank the fans for all of their words so far. Thank you for all your love and support. I hope I can repay you today, and I am confident I will. “There’s a reason I chose number 18,” he explained. “There were other numbers, but my two favorite English players ever are Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, both of whom wore number 18 here.

Why did Jack Grealish join Everton?
“So, as soon as I realized this deal was close, I had a look, and number 18 was free, which was ideal for me, and it was the only number I was going to grab from there. I spoke with Wayne [Rooney] before I came here and told him about the number 18, so I hope he’s thrilled as well!”

According to Scotsman Moyes, the grand plan is to get Grealish to World Cup territory next year. The former Celtic defender remarked, “We welcome Jack to Everton and are delighted to have him on board.” I believe we’re getting him at the right time because he’s experienced, understands the Premier League, and we’re all aware of the levels he’s capable of competing at.

“I know Jack’s goal is to return to the England group, and maybe we can help him achieve that throughout the season. We’re all excited to work with him and provide him a platform to be the best version of himself.”
