Eye-Opening Footage of Hugo Ekitike in Liverpool Training Goes Viral

As the Frenchman gets ready to make his debut for his new team in preseason, footage of Hugo Ekitike participating in a training session for Liverpool has surfaced. Following in the footsteps of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, who both left the Bundesliga for Merseyside, the 23-year-old completed a £79 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Anfield after being linked to other clubs this summer.

The Reds’ first game of their preseason tour of Asia did not have Ekitike in the starting lineup. Instead, Wirtz started as a false nine in the team’s 4-2 loss to AC Milan, and Ben Doak took over in the second period. But videos of the French U21 international that have surfaced since Wednesday’s match against Yokohama F. Marinos are sure to thrill Liverpool supporters.

Ekitike’s Training Footage Released

The Frenchman has made a strong impression

Ekitike can be seen playing at his best in videos that have gone viral on social media, scoring three goals in a one-sided match. The first was a strong finish with his right foot, while the second was a more elegant attempt with his left foot off balance into the far corner.

Fans were left wondering what the former PSG player could do to the squad when he finished with a close-range header that would have completed a perfect hat-trick in a real game.

Liverpool’s struggles in the number nine spot the previous season made it clear that they needed to improve. For the third consecutive season, Darwin Nunez was inconsistent, and as whispers about his possible exit persist, the Uruguayan seems to be accepting his fate. Before his untimely death in July, the late Diogo Jota’s injury record had also been questioned.

Fans think they have a real elite number nine in Ekitike, and many even go so far as to claim they don’t need Alexander Isak of Newcastle, with whom they are still being linked.

After learning of Liverpool’s interest, Isak informed Newcastle that he wanted to look into other possibilities. However, some people on social media are certain that they don’t need the Swede because of Ekitike’s video.

“And Isak is still being signed? One said, “Looool,” while another said, “Is Isak coming to sit on the bench?”

A third asked: “Isak necessary? Surely, it’s preferable to have Guehi and Fofana as a backup. “Feel like there were similar clips of Darwin, no?” is how a fourth person summed up the excitement.
