Fans of Manchester United have been promised something by Antony, something they have all been requesting.

Antony has had a rough time with Manchester United since he joined, but he is determined to get better.

The Brazilian was signed for a huge £86 million, so he was always going to have to live up to the club’s hopes. He has not done himself any favours.

It will make Manchester United feel like they should never have made the deal, at least not for that much money.

Antony only got one goal in the Premier League in 2024–25, three less than in his first season, and he has fallen down the tiers since last season.

People now see Amad Diallo as an important player on the right, and Antony is in for a tough battle if he wants to win.

Antony says he will take care of his biggest problem.
United’s season starts tomorrow, and Antony recently did an interview with The Athletic. It has a lot of interesting lines, such as his big plans for the 2024–25 season.

But, and this is the most important thing for us, he has promised to fix the biggest problem Manchester United fans have had with his game: his right foot doesn’t work.

“This is something I haven’t done in a long time, but I have to do it for every game this season. My wife and I came up with the idea of writing down our goals in a book.

Antony said he had written down his goals for the year, and this is where he said he would work on his right foot, and fans would be able to see the progress.

“My goals say it right there on the paper: work on the right foot more, score more goals and set up more.” One day I’ll show you these notes, and you’ll see how this season turned out.

“I write down a lot of specifics, like how many shots I should take during a game, how often I should lose the ball, how many goals I need to score, how many assists I need to make, how well I need to pass and dribble, and how well I need to defend.” I want to reach many goals. I always think about things.

Since Erik ten Hag doesn’t seem to trust the 24-year-old, he probably won’t get many starts. He will have to make the most of cup games and cameos to get back into the starting lineup.

Antony isn’t as good as Alejandro Garnacho or Amad on the right wing, and this season feels like a make-or-break one for the Ten Hag deal.

It’s likely that Ineos will be much more busy in sending him away next summer if he doesn’t do well. This summer, there were only a few loan ties. It’s thin ice, but let’s hope he keeps his word.
