Sander Berge, a 26-year-old Norwegian midfielder valued at £30 million by Burnley, is reportedly set to join for Manchester United for £25 million.
Manchester United is reportedly interested in Sander Berge, according to a TEAMtalk report. The Burnley midfielder has been selected by the Red Devils as a Manuel Ugarte substitute. Manchester United is willing to pay £25 million to acquire the 26-year-old, but the Clarets are willing to deal with him for roughly £30 million.

Sander Berge and his struggles with English
When Sander Berge moved to England in January 2020 from KRC Genk, he never reached his enormous potential. Several prominent clubs set their sights on him during his time with the Belgian club since he was one of the best young midfielders in Europe.

Since joining Burnley in the summer of last year, the 26-year-old has made 40 appearances for the Clarets, contributing two goals and two assists. Berge, nevertheless, is ready to leave Turf Moor after just one season because of Burnley’s relegation to the EFL Championship.

Meanwhile, a number of prominent teams throughout Europe have taken notice of Sander Berge’s predicament. In the last weeks of the summer transfer season, Manchester United is one of the potential suitors for the Norwegian international, who might soon make a comeback to the Premier League.

Is a Premier League comeback imminent?
It makes sense that Sander Berge would be of interest to Manchester United. In the summer transfer window, the Red Devils are eager to add a holding midfielder, after Casemiro was inconsistent in the 2023–24 campaign. The Brazilian midfielder’s difficulties were a factor in Manchester United’s uneven results from the previous season.

In order to strengthen the midfield, Manchester United’s priority objective is now Manuel Ugarte. Berge is one of the options, but negotiations to sign the Uruguayan international have stagnated. According to the most recent information, the Premier League’s biggest clubs are willing to pay £25 million to sign the Norwegian midfielder.

According to recent sources, Burnley wants to part ways with the 26-year-old for almost £30 million. Therefore, Manchester United’s estimated £25 million opening bid will be £5 million less than the Clarets’ valuation. It will be interesting to see if they can get Sander Berge on board with their initial bid.
