First footage of Viktor Gyokeres in Arsenal training emerges and it will get fans talking

After a protracted transfer drama, the former Sporting CP striker eventually joined Mikel Arteta’s team earlier this week.

Online footage of Viktor Gyokeres working out with Arsenal has surfaced, and Arsenal fans have shared their thoughts on the new player.

Throughout the summer, Gyokeres, 27, was frequently linked to a move to Arsenal. However, he finalised his transfer to the Premier League team earlier this week after negotiations broke down at several stages over add-ons and bonuses.

According to BBC Sport, the 27-year-old has signed a five-year contract for up to £73 million with Arsenal.

Gyokeres said, “I just felt it was the right club for me,” after finishing his move.

“I just saw how they’ve been playing football for the past few years, and I heard from Mikel [Arteta] and [sporting director] Andrea Berta.

“I could see that Arsenal was a very formidable squad and challenging to play against when I faced them last season.

“That made me choose Arsenal, and of course, all the history the club has and the massive fan base.”

Gyokeres is one of six players that Arsenal has signed this summer. Prior to the 2025–2026 Premier League season, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga all completed moves.

Prior to Arsenal’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United in Singapore on July 27, the Swedish forward was introduced on the pitch; however, he has not yet made an appearance for his new team.

Nevertheless, as video of the new man in training surfaced, supporters were still eager to voice their opinions.
