The captain of Manchester City, Bernardo Silva, wants to settle his future before the summer’s European Championships, despite Barcelona’s renewed interest.

Bernardo Silva, a midfielder for Manchester City, wants his situation to be settled by the end of Euro 2024 this summer.

With two years remaining on his current contract, Silva is known to be eager for a new challenge and has long been linked to a move to Spanish powerhouse Barcelona.

In addition to Barca, Silva was also a target for Paris Saint-Germain; however, he turned down the opportunity to play for the French team and extended his contract with City by one year last year.

But with a £50 million release clause in his new contract that can be activated as early as this summer, Silva, 29, may finally be ready to move on.

Due to Silva’s previous request to leave City in order to be nearer to his family, many of the best clubs in Europe have been made aware of his possible availability. Although Silva is regarded by City manager Pep Guardiola as one of his most important players, the manager has never prevented a player from leaving the team if they indicate a desire to move on.

Along with fellow Portuguese players Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, Silva may be persuaded to rejoin Ilkay Gundogan at the Nou Camp after he moved from City to Barca last summer.
