Full Reasons Why Norwich City Manager Liam Manning Might Be Sacked Today Finally Explained

Norwich City have had a dreadful start to the season, with fans at Carrow Road becoming increasingly dissatisfied.

Following a 1-0 defeat against Bristol City on October 18, the Canaries have dropped to 20th in the table, with only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.

Norwich have won just two league games, drawn two, and lost six since Liam Manning took over in June, despite preseason hopes of making the playoffs.

They are now on a six-game unbeaten streak and have yet to win at home in any tournament this season, adding to mounting concerns behind the scenes.

As a result of their poor start to the season, Manning is now in significant danger of losing his job, with the pressure on his position increasing.

Norwich City will make Liam Manning
Norwich terminated Johannes Hoff Thorup at the end of a difficult season in which they ended 13th, but fears of dropping further down the table may compel Manning to make an early choice.

As I disclosed on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the manager understands that he needs to start winning games to turn around his team’s fortunes, but the match against Bristol City at Ashton Gate was viewed as “massive” for his future.

After another setback, Manning faces tough issues, knowing that failing to turn around their current form will only lead to one outcome.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Yes, as we’ve stated every week, managers live and die by outcomes, and Manning is no exception.

“Obviously, Liam Manning and Norwich haven’t had the best of results lately.

“It was a pretty difficult one to take shortly before the international break, losing to their bitter rivals Ipswich and putting further pressure on Manning.

“People anticipated Norwich to improve this season following a disappointing season last year, and many saw them as dark horses for promotion.

“I don’t think anyone at the club would have expected them to be where they are after 10 games.

“It was a huge game against his former team, Bristol City. After something went wrong for him, the pressure became even more.

“So look, needs victories, he needs to help Norwich back up that table, but again, pressure is building.”

While Manning is still highly regarded at Carrow Road and throughout the game, the Norwich manager has also been connected with the Leicester post, raising more concerns.

The Championship Manager merry-go-round is in full swing.

In the early stages of the Championship season, two managers have been fired: Paulo Pezzolano by Watfrod and Ruben Selles by Sheffield United.

Both teams moved fast in their quest for replacements, with Watford bringing Javi Gracia back to Vicarage Road and Sheffield United returning Chris Wilder.

The theme of going back in for prior managers appears to have expanded this season, and Norwich may soon have to make a decision on their own manager.

Jack Wilshere was a possibility for Norwich last season when he took on an interim position, but he was recently named as first-team manager of Luton Town.

The Canaries have so far chosen to continue with Manning in the hopes that the promising coach will turn things around, but they may soon be forced to make a decision.
