NOW WE GO: Arsenal finally pulled off a last-minute transfer window coup to sign a £60 million South American superstar. A four-year contract was agreed with, and the player will be present to watch Brighton play today.

Neto, a custodian from Bournemouth, has joined Arsenal on a season-long loan, taking Aaron Ramsdale’s place.
Neto from Bournemouth has officially joined Arsenal on a season-long loan. The Gunners were eager to add a late replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, thus the Cherries were willing to part ways with the seasoned South American ace, even if they had already signed someone else.

Neto joins Arsenal
On deadline day, Arsenal had a lot of business to conduct, and many of their supporters will be reasonably happy with how things have turned out thus far. They are getting closer to Raheem Sterling in the last hours as negotiations for the winger with Chelsea continue, while Reiss Nelson may sign a short-term contract with newcomers Ipswich Town.

Additionally, they sold Southampton Aaron Ramsdale for a fee of £25 million, including add-ons. With the departure of the England international, Arsenal needed to find a replacement No. 2 to replace David Raya. Their top choice to temporarily replace Ramsdale was Joan Garcia of Espanyol.

Arsenal had made an offer of €20 million, including add-ons, but Espanyol wanted Arsenal to pay his entire €30 million release clause. The Gunners were unwilling to comply. With little time remaining in the window, Arsenal quickly turned their focus to Neto of Bournemouth, who was made available by Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan arrival.

Now that Neto has joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Bournemouth, the Gunners may receive an undisclosed loan fee from the Cherries. The deal has no buyout clause or commitment because the seasoned South American player is obviously intended to be a stopgap for Ramsdale.

Neto gives this Arsenal team more experience.
Even if there are now a good number of Brazilian players in this team, Neto won’t take long to settle in. Given that Joan Garcia was viewed as their top choice to succeed Ramsdale, the signing of the seasoned South American player shouldn’t be interpreted as a step down.

The player has spent two seasons in the Premier League with Bournemouth and has a wealth of experience playing in Spain. Neto, who played for Bournemouth earlier this week, is cup-tied for the Carabao Cup, but he will provide Raya with plenty of insurance should he be called upon to step in.
