NOW WE GO: Arteta is expected to reveal his second summer acquisition today, and Arsenal is working really hard to finalise another significant deal today. The player’s camp has agreed to join, and a physical date has been scheduled.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal is reportedly considering buying Espanyol star Joan Garcia during this transfer season.

The Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations appear to have stifled the Gunners, since they failed to make any significant additions during the winter transfer window and have yet to make any this summer.

The only things left for the North London team to complete are finalise David Raya’s loan move and close to signing Tommy Setford, a promising custodian from Ajax Amsterdam.

It seems that Arsenal is more interested in raising money by selling some of its stars, and once they have reduced their roster, they may try to add some new players later in the transfer window.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have already been released by Mikel Arteta’s team, and there have been rumours of Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe leaving as well.

Garcia heading to Arsenal
In addition, Aaron Ramsdale, who was on the fringes the previous season, may want to depart to play regular first-team football. Eddie Nketiah is also anticipated to be sold.

Garcia is a viable possibility for Arsenal should they decide to boost their goalkeeping staff before current transfer window closes, according to a TEAMtalk report.

The report also states that he has a £21 million release clause in his current contract and that the Gunners have been keeping an eye on his current circumstances before making any possible raids.

But according to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing him, thus Arsenal will have to defeat fierce opposition from their rivals to complete any possible deal for him.

Garcia helped the Catalan team maintain their top-flight status last season during a strong La Liga 2 campaign. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall, the Spaniard is effective in the air, at ease with the ball at his feet, and a superb shot-blocker.

Given his age, the 23-year-old would be a wise addition to Arsenal in the long run if they decide to buy him. But the move might be more difficult now that he has been called up to play for Spain at the Olympics.
