According to reports, Manchester United has given up on midfielder Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Red Devils are hoping to sign a new midfield player in time for the season to begin, as Fulham’s interest has raised doubts over Scott McTominay’s future.

PSG and Man United’s Manuel Ugarte had conversations.
Ugarte, 23, has been a serious contender, but United has reportedly had to end talks with Paris Saint-Germain because of their inability to drop their £51 million asking price, per David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Resolved to put an end to years of excessive expenditure, new shareholders Under the leadership of British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, INEOS is sending a strong message to rival teams that they will not be coerced into paying excessive fees.

It is anticipated that the Red Devils’ athletic department will look for other, possibly less expensive targets; however, Ornstein has not yet mentioned a specific player.

Kobbie Mainoo, a young talent, has given United a lift in the middle of the pitch, though. Following his involvement in England’s EUROs campaign, which saw the Three Lions go to the final before falling to eventual champions Spain earlier this summer, the gifted teenager was granted an extended period of leave.

Now that he’s back, Mainoo might start for Erik Ten Hag at Wembley on Saturday in the Community Shield against Manchester City, their bitter rivals.
