Hidden Reason why Ex-Stoke City and Crystal Palace boss offers clear advice to Steve Bruce following Blackpool sacking
Blackpool sacked Steve Bruce earlier this month.
Following his termination at Bloomfield Road, former Blackpool manager Steve Bruce has been encouraged to enjoy his retirement.
The 64-year-old took over the Fylde Coast in September after nearly two years away from the game, but he left earlier this month after a dismal start to the season.
Ian Evatt, an ex-Seasiders defender, now appears likely to replace the renowned Manchester United figure in the dugout, with Stephen Dobbie serving as interim manager for the previous fortnight.
Pulis offers advice to Bruce
Fellow seasoned coach Tony Pulis recently gave Bruce some advise and encouraged him to continue in his footsteps.
Throughout his 28-year coaching career, the 67-year-old has led Stoke City, Crystal Palace, and West Brom, but he has not been in the dugout since leaving Sheffield Wednesday in 2020.
“Steve Bruce has nothing left to prove in football so I’d like to see him go and enjoy his free time,” his spokesperson told Grosvenor Sport.
“It’s difficult to break away when you’ve been doing it your entire life, like Steve has.
“My advise to him is to depart right now. He’s had a fantastic career and is widely appreciated as a player and manager. He should treat his family and spend some of his money.
“He should really enjoy his life. He can still participate in football and watch games, and he will be welcomed everywhere. So, he should enjoy his life; he’s had a fantastic run.
“If someone had told him at the start of his Gillingham career what would happen in the next 20-30 years, he would not have believed them. He has been totally amazing and blessed. So, my advise to him is to go out and enjoy his family.”
