The forecast for Friday night when Miami hosts Virginia Tech is for 80° with a 22 percent chance of rain with winds out of the South-Southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Skies are forecast to be “partly to mostly cloudy with humidity at 85 percent per The Weather Channel.
“In Miami-Dade, as of 6 a.m. Thursday, 23 arrivals and 20 departures have been canceled at Miami International Airport due to Helene.” per local 10. NBC6 reported, “Tropical storm warnings and tornado watches remained in place for all of South Florida including Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and parts of Palm Beach counties on Thursday.”

By the time Virginia Tech at Miami kicks off on Friday night, the forecast seems to be that Hurricane Helene will have minimal effect on the game. The heat and humidity to be expected for Miami in late September seem more likely to affect Virginia Tech than Helene.
