“It’s a dream come true for me… I’m happy to be call a Arsenal player”: Arsenal third transfer signing express his excitement after joining the Gunners

Several names have already been linked to Arsenal as they search for a new midfield player during the summer transfer window.

Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad and the team have verbally agreed on personal terms, but the Gunners have not yet submitted a formal proposal.

According to Tutto Juve, Rabiot has attracted the attention of two Premier League teams, Arsenal and Liverpool, among others.

Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, wants to bring in more stability and experience in the midfield and is targeting Rabiot for a free transfer.

Merino is more likely to join Arsenal than Rabiot.
The Gunners intend to spend money on a new central midfield player subsequent to their breakup with Emile Smith Rowe.

Merino apparently selected the Gunners over Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, and he has already agreed to terms on a long-term contract.

The team is probably going to make a formal offer for the 28-year-old. Their goal is to acquire him for a price lower than the £26 million asking price.

Rabiot is still being connected, but the Gunners don’t appear to be interested in two left-footed central midfielders at the same time.

Rabiot is not quite as good offensively or defensively as Merino. Last season, he recorded an incredible 10.2 duels per game in addition to 2.4 tackles and 6.2 recoveries. He contributed 13 goals to Sociedad’s score.

Rabiot, on the other hand, led Juventus to 5.7 duels, 1.9 tackles, and 4.8 recoveries per league game. In all competitions, the Frenchman was only involved in eight goals for the Bianconeri.

Rabiot can be transferred for free, although his price can still be much more. The seven-time league champion’s contract at Juventus, where it expires at the end of June, already paid him £145,000 a week.

He is probably going to ask for a hefty signing-on bonus in addition to more than £200,000 per week. Merino, on the other hand, makes £52,000 a week at Sociedad and is eligible to join the team upon receiving a 100% rise.

From an Arsenal financial and sporting perspective, we believe that a deal for Merino makes sense. Rabiot rumours may be agent-driven in an attempt to pique the curiosity of rival teams.
