Matej Kovar of Bayer Leverkusen has acknowledged that it would be pleasant to visit Manchester United again in the future.
The goalie has been discussing his career to date and a possible future return to Manchester United with Rheinische Post.

After spending a number of years at Old Trafford, Kovar joined Manchester United’s U18 team in 2018 and progressed through the youth ranks. He has had loan stints at Swindon Town, Burton Albion, and Sparta Prague.

Despite playing 53 games for the U21s, he never had the chance to play for Manchester United’s first team, failing to make a single appearance.

As a result, he left for Bayer Leverkusen last summer. There, he made 17 appearances in all competitions and swiftly established himself as the team’s number two as they won the German Cup and the Bundesliga.

He is content with his life and the possibility of playing even more under Xabi Alonso, but he wouldn’t rule out going back to Manchester United in the future if the opportunity presented itself.

When he joined United at the age of 17, he remarked, “It wasn’t an easy decision to leave everything behind at that age: the country, my friends, my family.”

But you don’t have to wait long to answer when Manchester United calls. For me, a fantasy from my youth came true. That was a risk I had to take.

“I spent five years there, had a terrific experience, got to know a lot of wonderful people, and developed both personally and as a goalie. I’m appreciative of the opportunities. There were ups and downs, of course, but that’s just a part of life. Perhaps I will return sometime; that would be pleasant.
