Remarks from Kevin De Bruyne regarding Raheem Sterling Warns Manchester United about a surprise transfer swoop Raheem Sterling might be a last-minute addition to the team on transfer deadline day, and Kevin De Bruyne has already talked about the value his former teammate would offer to any club.

Manchester United is apparently considering a transfer for the Chelsea player, who was informed by his new manager, Enzo Maresca, that he is not included in the team’s plans for the 2024–2025 Premier League season.

Sterling lost his number seven shirt before the season started. He’s been training apart from the first squad and has been told he can leave West London anytime this summer.

“I’m not saying Raheem is not a good player but I prefer a different kind of winger,” Maresca stated at a preseason press conference.

In Chelsea’s opening two games of the season, Sterling hasn’t even been on the bench; instead, veteran players like Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku, as well as recent additions Pedro Neto and Joao Felix, have been selected ahead of Sterling.

And as transfer deadline day draws near, Erik ten Hag may bring him back to Manchester, but wearing a red shirt instead of a blue one, given how uncertain his future at Stamford Bridge is.

A trade between Sterling and Red Devils sensation Jadon Sancho, who has also lost Ten Hag’s favour and was left out of Manchester United’s Premier League openers against Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion, is one deal that has supposedly been discussed.

De Bruyne, Sterling’s former teammate, has previously discussed his friendship with the England international, saying that at first he was worried about not getting along with him. “I am a brutally honest person,” De Bruyne said in a piece for The Players’ Tribune.

I will therefore share a small secret with you. I was unsure of Raheem Sterling’s character before moving to Manchester City. Having never met him, I had assumed he would be a very different person based on what I had read about him in the English press. In all honesty, I didn’t believe he would be a bad guy.

However, the tabloids consistently asserted that he was conceited. Thus, I suppose I assumed he would be… what do the Brits call it? After training, I would chat with Raheem when I arrived to City and realised, “Wait, this guy seems really cool?” What’s the deal with this?

The truth is that I don’t have many close friends, either in or out of the football world. I’m not the type to open up to people easily. But because our sons were born around the same time, and they usually played together, I grew closer to Raheem over time. As I got to know Raheem more, I saw what a sincere and intelligent guy he is.

“He is the complete opposite of what the tabloids were reporting.” The fact is that Raheem is among the kindest, most modest men I’ve ever encountered in the sports world.
