Kobbie Mainoo is unhappy with the terms of his contract at Manchester United, which makes it more likely that he will leave the team. David Ornstein has stated that the star player could be sold in the future.

Mainoo was a big surprise for Manchester United last season. He made it onto the first team and played well in all 33 games he played in. United had a rough season when Erik ten Hag was in charge, but Mainoo was one of the team’s bright spots, which helped him get into the England group.

The 19-year-old had a rough first half of the 2024–25 season because he was hurt and not playing very well, but he looked almost back to his best in the recent 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield. Liverpool’s center has been pretty free these past few months, but Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte stopped them.

Even though Mainoo is from the area and a fan favorite, there are more and more rumors that he might be leaving United.

Athletic reporters Ornstein and Whitwell have revealed that United would “reluctantly consider selling” homegrown stars like Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho if they got “suitable offers.”

United isn’t actively trying to sell either player, but they are aware of how bad their finances are. Player like Mainoo and Garnacho could make the club a lot of money, which would help them follow PSR rules.

People used to think that Mainoo and Garnacho were “untouchable,” but that’s no longer the case for most of the team.

Leny Yoro and Amad Diallo are two players who can’t be moved, but that list is getting shorter.

Due to an uncertain deal, Chelsea wants to sign Mainoo.
Also, the Manchester Evening News says that United has made Mainoo an offer for a new contract. In spite of this, he is “unhappy” with the terms and will wait for a better one.

Because he is one of the most exciting players on the team, Mainoo will want a big raise from his £20,000-a-week salary. Now it’s up to United to meet those expectations, or at least come close to them.

Chelsea will be paying close attention to what’s going on. Tuesday, it was revealed that Chelsea are the top teams wishing to sign Mainoo should he become free to move.

On Monday, Ornstein said that Mainoo might leave United like Marcus Rashford, who is also from the school, since there has been no progress on his new deal. Ornstein has now stated that Mainoo could leave United, making it more likely that they will lose him.

TEAMtalk has learned that United are now the favorites to sign Milos Kerkez as their new left wing-back. Liverpool has dropped their interest in him.

United has been following the Bournemouth star for a long time, even before Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over, and they are now ready to make a move.

Bournemouth want at least £40million before selling Kerkez during the January transfer window.

While Kerkez could soon join Ruben Amorim’s squad, Antony is at risk of being axed.

Antony’s agent is currently taking offers for the winger, and Olympiacos, a Greek giant, has come up as one choice.
