Kyle Walker, a defender for Manchester City, has identified Samir Nasri, a former Arsenal player, as the most challenging adversary he has encountered. However, he also said that he really relishes facing a winger from Chelsea.

Renowned for his exceptional velocity and dexterity, Walker has garnered acclaim from esteemed athletes such as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. Throughout his career, he has encountered some of the most skilled players in the game in around 700 matches.

During an interview on Vibe with Five, Walker revealed that he has consistently struggled against players with less agility, such as Nasri, whereas he has always relished facing his former Manchester City teammate, Raheem Sterling.

“I used to derive great pleasure from competing against Raz [Sterling],” he informed Rio Ferdinand. “I had a strong affection for it in the past.” Not in a derogatory manner, I recognized his skill as a player, and I believed that if I performed well against him, others would acknowledge and value my efforts.

“I harbored a strong aversion towards Nasri in the past.” He habitually inserted himself inside pockets. If someone were to challenge me in a one-on-one situation, I would be confident in my abilities. However, when faced with intelligent opponents who strategically position themselves, Gael Clichy’s overlapping runs would be a significant challenge.

“I would enter that area and Gael is positioned to run past the opposing player.” Once they singled out either me or you [Ferdinand] from the line, we immediately lost that momentum.

Anticipating the future, Walker and his team are making preparations for a significant match against Liverpool tomorrow. Given the narrow one-point gap at the top of the Premier League, the upcoming match holds great significance for Arsenal, who are also vying for the crown. Curiously, Walker admitted that he would favor Liverpool triumphing in the league more than Arsenal, in the event that he couldn’t secure victory with City.
