Manchester United’s executive team will convene a long-awaited meeting on Tuesday, with the future of manager Erik ten Hag dominating the discourse around Old Trafford.

Ten Hag’s third season as host has begun disastrously, with only three wins from ten games in all competitions. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United’s co-owner who will attend the meeting in London, surprisingly declined to defend the Dutchman in an interview last week and then attended the Red Devils’ 0-0 stalemate at Villa Park on Sunday.

Ratcliffe’s trust in Ten Hag has always been questioned, since he spoke with various managers, including Thomas Tuchel, at the conclusion of last season before electing to continue with the failing manager, who has spent more than £600 million during his tenure.

09:57Sir Alex Ferguson has given Manchester United’s hierarchy and Sir Jim Ratcliffe a list of two qualities that any next manager must possess.

Ferguson, speaking on the Go Radio Business Show with Sir Tom Hunter and Lord Willie Haughey, stated: “It is really important if you are going to manage a club the size of Manchester United: you do need a good personality, and you do need some really good organisational skills in terms of dealing with different types of personalities and different types of players.”

“And, also, the fans from all over the world, you have to be aware you have to deliver not just for your players, but for a massive fanbase.”09:10Glazer made a rare appearance at Old Trafford Wednesday, joining fellow Manchester United stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe for the first time.

Details on why United’s much-maligned executive co-chairman was present have surfaced.

According to the Athletic, Glazer initially attended a meeting to discuss stadium reconstruction ideas, which also included Gary Neville, a member of the regeneration task committee, and Sir Alex Ferguson.

He then met with the club’s Fan Advisory Board (FAB), having previously attended sessions via video connection.According to Nathan Ridley and Moyes, Ten Hag is performing really well.
Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has thrown his support behind Erik ten Hag, calling him a ‘great job’.

Manchester United are ‘setting up’ Tuchel’s hiring.
It was claimed yesterday that Manchester United is preparing to hire Thomas Tuchel if Erik ten Hag is fired.

Tuchel departed Bayern Munich in May and met with Sir Jim Ratcliffe this summer to explore taking over at Old Trafford.

The German’s perspective did not connect with the United’s at the time, but both sides continue to admire one other.

According to the MEN, Tuchel’s ability to take over swiftly makes him a strong possibility.Carragher: ‘I have pity for Ten Hag’
Jamie Carragher, an ex-Liverpool defender, has spoken out about Erik ten Hag, claiming that he has been ‘hung out to dry’.

Rooney Issues Ten Hag verdict.
Wayne Rooney thinks Erik ten Hag can turn things around at Old Trafford, but warns that if he is fired, Manchester United would have to rebuild again.

“He’s won trophies wherever he’s been, including at Manchester United,” the current Plymouth Argyle boss added. “So, certainly, he’s going through a terrible phase, and I believe he’d admit that himself.

“But you hope he can turn it around because too often managers lose their jobs and then it’s another rebuild with a different manager.”United Chiefs Reach ‘Sack Agreement’
According to ESPN, the United leadership has determined that Erik ten Hag’s employment will not expire today.

Ratcliffe, Berrada, Ashworth, and others are said to have secretly decided to give the Dutchman more time at the helm, hoping to see whether he can turn things around again.

Pepper Brooks said, “It’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for ’em.”

We’re just seven games into the Premier League season, but Manchester United executives will undoubtedly be considering the club’s prospects of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe indicated earlier this year that, given the club’s financial condition, finishing in the top four would be critical.

Erik ten Hag’s squad finished seventh, and their FA Cup victory qualified them for the Europa League this season.

Erik ten Hag thinks he will not be fired following today’s meeting of Manchester United’s executive committee.

According to the Telegraph, Ten Hag believes he still has the support of the club’s decision-makers.

Today’s meeting has long been scheduled, with United executives expected to discuss a variety of concerns at Old Trafford.Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United’s controlling co-owner, lauded Erik ten Hag ahead of Tuesday’s meeting, but said the choice will be made by the club’s executive committee.

“I like Erik.” I believe he is an excellent coach, but it is ultimately not my decision. The management staff at Manchester United must determine how to best operate the team in a variety of ways,” he told BBC Sport.

“But the team that is running Manchester United has only been together since June or July.” [CEO] Omar [Berrada] and [sporting director] Dan Ashworth were not there in January, February, March, or April; they came in July.

“They have only been there…” They’ve only been there for a few weeks, so they need to assess the situation and make some sound judgments.

“Our objective is very clear – we want to take Manchester United back to where it should be, and it’s not there yet, obviously – that’s very clear.”

Ten Hag is convinced he will keep his backing.
After Sunday’s draw with Aston Villa, Erik ten Hag said he still had the confidence of the United management.

“We always speak; every week we speak. We’re all on the same page, we understand what we’re doing, and we realize it’ll be a lengthy process. We’ve come through two really difficult away games,” he told Sky Sports.

“As a team, we demonstrated our belief and faith. I believe that is the fourth clean sheet this season. You can tell that we were really organized and worked well together. The team has good character and spirit. Determined and resilient.
