Luis Diaz’s remarks during his first news conference since joining Bayern Munich have angered Liverpool fans.

Diaz, 28, signed a four-year contract with Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich after completing a £65.5 million transfer.

The 28-year-old’s contract with Liverpool was scheduled to end in 2027. The Colombian winger scored 41 goals in 148 games while playing for Merseyside, winning four major trophies: the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.

After Harry Kane and Lucas Hernandez, the former Porto player is Bayern’s third-most costly acquisition ever.

“First of all, for the person he was because he always had a smile on his face no matter what, in the year that I’ve worked with him,” head coach Arne Slot said of Diaz’s graceful departure from Liverpool. Perhaps it’s a little more reasonable to be smiling because I played him a lot!

However, he consistently showed up for every training session and gave it his all, grinning, even when I didn’t play him.

Apart from that, his song was possibly one of the greatest songs our fans have ever heard from a player, therefore I’m going to miss it a lot.

“And, of course, everything he did to help us win the league.”

Additionally, Diaz described how winning the league at Liverpool last season “fulfilled his duty.”

At a news conference, Díaz declared, “I’m very happy to be here in Munich at this great club.”

“I’ve had a really positive first impression. Although I haven’t had much time yet, I’ve already had a very warm welcome, and I’m eager to learn more about everyone.”

“I’ve chosen to join Bayern because it’s a club that fits with my goals,” he continued. I wanted to join a large, ambitious group since I have high aspirations. I want to support the team because we want to win everything here.”

However, several Liverpool supporters resorted to social media to express their disapproval of his remarks.

“Liverpool not big?” said one.

“So Lucho is saying Liverpool isn’t an ambitious club?” another person remarked.

“Is he saying Liverpool doesn’t have ambition?” clarified a third. The finest transfer window is being held by the same Liverpool.
