Real Sociedad is intensifying the pressure on Martin Zubimendi as Liverpool attempts to capture him, while the Reds have expressed their willingness to trade a forward player if a price of €60 million (£51.3 million) is received.

Zubimendi is the primary candidate that Liverpool is aiming to acquire in order to enhance their defensive midfield position. The team’s new head coach, Arne Slot, has specifically identified this area as one that requires strengthening. Zubimendi had previously been associated with other prominent Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Manchester United. However, it is now Liverpool who have the most favourable prospects of acquiring him in England.

The Spanish player is reportedly eager to transfer to Anfield in order to progress in his career by leaving his childhood club.

Liverpool is willing to pay Zubimendi’s release clause of £51.3 million, considering this amount to be a highly favorable investment.

Liverpool is now experiencing delays in completing the transaction due to Sociedad’s ongoing efforts to persuade its players to remain with the club.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Liverpool is intensifying their efforts to get Zubimendi by offering a more financially rewarding deal. Sociedad, however, is making efforts to retain either the 25-year-old or Arsenal’s potential recruit – and fellow midfielder – Mikel Merino.

Renowned Liverpool journalist Paul Joyce has recently delivered a new report about the current scenario. According to him, Sociedad is exerting significant pressure on Zubimendi to remain with the team. They are insisting that if he chooses to join Slot at Liverpool, he must personally trigger his departure option.

Sociedad is using Zubimendi’s emotional attachment, recognizing the immense difficulty he would have in departing from the team to which he has dedicated his whole professional career thus far, especially after his recent victory in Euro 2024.

The transfer of Martin Zubimendi to Liverpool is in jeopardy.
The ultimatum from Sociedad has increased the player’s stress levels, reducing the likelihood of him reaching an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool.

Liverpool is confident in their ability to secure the signing of Zubimendi, but, the transfer situation is getting increasingly complicated due to Sociedad’s escalating cunning manoeuvres.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool would part ways with winger Luis Diaz if a summer offer of £51.3m is made for him.

In recent months, there have been suggestions that Diaz may join Barcelona since it is believed that his representatives are eager to get a significant transfer to Spain. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are other possible contenders.

On Saturday, the conjecture on Diaz’s future seemed to be coming to a close when Barcelona instead acquired Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.

However, there is a possibility that Diaz may leave Anfield in the current transfer window, as Liverpool is willing to entertain appropriate bids for him.

Liverpool supporters will be devastated to witness the departure of the Colombian player since he is regarded as one of the most thrilling offensive players in the Premier League. Diaz’s goal-scoring efficiency has been scrutinized due to his penchant for missing significant scoring opportunities.

If Liverpool were to sell Diaz for £51.3m, they would generate a profit on the player. Initially, they acquired him from Porto for £37.5m, with an additional £12.5m in potential further payments.
