Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has served as Manchester United’s interim manager for the past four games since Erik ten Hag was fired after a terrible start to the season, has officially been replaced by Ruben Amorim.

Before deciding to cut Ruud van Nistelrooy from his Manchester United first team staff, Ruben Amorim chose not to have a face-to-face meeting with him.

Amorim has had to make some difficult decisions about who will comprise his inner circle as he gets ready to begin work at Old Trafford after travelling into Manchester to begin his reign, which will begin on November 24 with a trip to Ipswich Town.

Van Nistelrooy, who has filled in for Erik ten Hag since the latter was fired after a terrible start to the season, is replaced by the former Sporting Lisbon coach.

After Amorim decided not to include the renowned former striker in his coaching staff, the Dutchman left the team despite revitalising it and helping them win three of those four games.

According to The Athletic, if Amorim had any conversations with Van Nistelrooy before to taking over, they were not in person. Van Nistelrooy, 39, is keen to make his mark on the team with his own team, therefore the article adds that United avoided getting “swept up by sentimentality” and instead let Amorim make the decision about his future.

After United defeated Leicester City 3-0, Van Nistelrooy was spotted shaking hands with key United officials, making it appear “unlikely” that he would stay under Amorim.

It is unthinkable that the two could have spoken because Amorim just showed there a few hours after Van Nistelrooy left United’s training facility at approximately noon.

Amorim was given a tour of United’s Carrington training facility after arriving in Manchester at approximately 1.45 p.m. with his new coaching staff, which included Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, Paulo Barreira, Emanuel Ferro, and Jorge Vital.

His visa must be approved before he can start working, but United does not expect this to be a problem and hopes it will be settled in a few days.

“I feel ready for the new challenge,” Amorim remarked, referring to the magnitude of the task he faces at United. I am aware that it will be quite different and challenging; I am not naive. There are no illusions in my mind. However, that is what must be.

“Now that I’m at peace, I can concentrate on starting my new work, which I am eager to do. There are alternative locations with varied exposure and pressure, but I am aware that it will be challenging to duplicate what I have here elsewhere.”
