Since Ruben Amorim moved to Old Trafford, Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting Lisbon, has been frequently linked to Manchester United.

Viktor Gyokeres is available to Manchester United for a fraction of the cost they had believed would be necessary.

After being signed up by Ruben Amorim from Coventry City, the Sporting striker continued to improve. He is averaging more than a goal per game this season and has scored an incredible 74 goals in only 79 games for the Portuguese team.

It seemed inevitable that the Reds would be connected to Amorim’s services given United’s difficulties in the center-forward position and their strong bond with Gyokeres. Given that many clubs, including United, are fighting to keep inside the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, a move in January now appears to be out of the question.

Sporting will also be hesitant to part with Gyokeres in the midst of the season, as it may significantly affect their chances of winning the championship and qualifying for the Champions League. Therefore, it is more feasible for all parties to switch in the summer.

United has now been given a reason to hold out that long. Gyokeres and Sporting have a gentleman’s agreement that permits the striker to leave the team for as little as £58.6 million to £62.8 million, according to Record Portugal.

Gyokeres and Sporting have already alluded to such an accord. It has previously been said that if Gyokeres stays with the team until the conclusion of the season, he will be let to go for less than his £83 million release clause.

Amorim has previously said unequivocally that he would not be acquiring any Sporting players during the January transfer window.
