According to information obtained exclusively by TEAMtalk, Manchester United has taken a step towards making Burnley midfielder Sander Berge their third significant signing of the summer. The Norwegian has confirmed that he is interested in going with Manchester United, and an enticing offer is currently being readied.

A short amount of time was squandered by the Red Devils in the process of concluding deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. Nevertheless, despite the fact that they have reached personal terms with Matthijs De Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, Manchester United have not yet completed the process of bringing their third major acquisition to town.

The agreements involving De Ligt and Mazraoui are still in play; however, Manchester United has cooled their interest in Ugarte after being hesitant to meet PSG’s asking of sixty million euros.

That is the sum that Paris Saint-Germain spent to acquire the Uruguayan player from Sporting CP a year ago, and the fact that they insisted that they break even is what caused Manchester United to walk out of the deal.

Instead, efforts are being made to find alternatives in the engine room. Players such as Youssouf Fofana, Richard Rios, Martin Zubimendi, Ederson (Atalanta), Sofyan Amrabat, and Sander Berge are all making connections to one another.

In the meantime, TEAMtalk can now report that Manchester United are getting closer to signing Berge from Burnley, while Zubimendi appears to be on track to sign with Merseyside’s fierce rivals.

The Norwegian international player, who is 26 years old, has reportedly indicated that he is interested in joining with Manchester United, and as a result, personal terms will not be an issue.

At this point, everyone is waiting to see if Manchester United and the Championship team can come to an agreement on a transfer fee.

According to reports, Burnley is hoping to earn thirty million pounds, but we have been informed that Manchester United are prepared to make a deal of twenty-five million pounds. This number of twenty-five million pounds would include the add-ons that are a part of the deal.

If Sander Berge were to sign, opinions would be divided.
For a number of reasons, including the fact that Berge has been an integral component of two Premier League teams that have been demoted, the move to acquire Berge may provoke a rift in the opinions of Manchester United supporters.

The relegation of Berge occurred with Sheffield United during the 2020/21 season, and he was relegated once more with Burnley during the most recent season.

But there aren’t many people who would dispute that Berge was to blame for each of those seasons. At Bramall Lane and Turf Moor, on the other hand, the central midfielder was one of the players who stood out as very promising.

It is anticipated that one or two players would leave Manchester United before the deadline of August 30 in order to align the pieces of the midfield puzzle.

The Manchester United club is willing to consider proposals for Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, and Scott McTominay. There is a general lack of interest in Casemiro and Eriksen at the moment.

McTominay was the subject of repeated offers from Fulham, the most recent of which was worth an initial twenty million pounds.

Fulham, on the other hand, has started looking into other possibilities as a result of United’s valuation of the Scotland international player, which is closer to thirty million pounds.
