Man Utd flop admits finally leaving the club was the best moment of his life and he begged to leave every day

Speaking openly about his time at Old Trafford, one Manchester United player stated that he wished he could leave every day.

Bebe, a forward from Vitoria Guimaraes SC, was acquired by United in 2010 for an estimated £7.2 million.

The winger did, however, only play in seven games for United in all competitions, scoring twice.

In 2014, Bebe was sold to Benfica after being loaned to teams including Pacos de Ferreira, Rio Ave, and Besiktas.

Before joining Racing Ferrol this year, Bebe played for teams including Cordoba, Rayo Vallecano, Eibar, and Real Zaragoza after leaving Benfica.

Bebe talked about his experience at United in an interview with GOAL via Give Me Sport back in 2018.

It wasn’t that [I didn’t believe in myself], he added; I simply understand life and believe that everyone would think the same thing. I believe anyone would ask, “Is this really possible?” if they were playing in Portugal’s third or fourth division and one of the top teams in the world called them out of the blue.

But as he continued to struggle at Old Trafford, his initial excitement soon faded.

“I called my agent every day to ask him to get me out,” Bebe continued. It was not a good moment. Even if you are in a fantastic club, you are not happy when you are not playing, so why keep going? I recall my agent calling to inform me that I had been sold to Benfica while I was attending a United game with the young team. My life’s greatest moment was that one.

The Cape Verdean player continued by saying he had no regrets about joining United.

“I can’t regret something that has changed my life and my family’s lives and given me so much food,” he remarked. I got everything from United. For me, that was the beginning of everything. I could purchase items that I previously couldn’t afford, like a house or a car.

“I could assist my friends and family with tasks that they were unable to complete. I have no regrets. Both my agency and I made a very wise choice. I would undoubtedly still be there if I had the same mindset as I have now. That is the kind of squad I would be on.

However, I had a different upbringing than the others, and I also had distinct attitudes and ways of thinking. I don’t regret it, but that didn’t help me at all. However, I would now advise my younger self to work out more, focus more, and act more professionally.

Bebe has made 362 club appearances and scored 55 goals thus far. The 34-year-old has scored six goals and has 24 caps for Cape Verde on the international scene.
