Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has expressed doubt regarding the timing of Ineos’ decision to terminate an ambassadorial contract with Sir Alex Ferguson, a legendary figure in the Red Devils’ organization.

Paul Scholes has condemned Manchester United’s termination of Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial contract, characterizing it as “disgusting.”

After concluding his 26-year tenure in 2013, the renowned Scot, who was 86 years old, transitioned to a position as a global ambassador. It is estimated that the annual salary for the position was £2.13 million.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the chief executive of Ineos, informed Ferguson in a meeting earlier this month that the contract would be terminated at the conclusion of the season as the club continues to pursue cost-cutting measures.

Scholes, who rose through the ranks during Ferguson’s tenure, is less than impressed with Ratcliffe’s decision, which has divided opinion among the fanbase and several former United stars.

Before United’s Europa League match against Fenerbahce, Scholes stated on TNT Sports, “I found it somewhat distasteful in light of the contributions that individual has made to the organization.” It is almost a bit disrespectful, but they are the new owners, and new owners make adjustments. They believe that what they are doing is in the best interest of the institution.

“If they believe they can save the money, which has been discussed for £2 million, and if they believe it can be used elsewhere, then so be it.” Sir Alex Ferguson is a significant figure in the history of this organization. The current state of affairs is primarily due to his extensive accomplishment over the course of many years.

“The timing was unfavorable, as you believe they are experiencing a particularly poor run of form. Would it have been possible to delay or complete the transaction until the season’s conclusion?”Sir Alex Ferguson will continue to be the most excellent ambassador the club has ever had, despite the negative publicity.

Jose Mourinho, the former manager of Manchester United, was also consulted regarding the decision prior to the match against his former club on Thursday night. He is currently the manager of Fenerbahce.

“My relationship with Sir Alex was extraordinary,” he stated. Once my Netflix documentary is released, you will have a better understanding of the reasons for my admiration for him.

“The position of an ambassador.” I am unaware of the circumstances; it is irrelevant as to why or what. The affection and respect of every Manchester United fan worldwide are the most significant assets that Sir Alex possesses, surpassing the ambassadorial role. It is more significant than a few pounds that he can earn and does not require. The affection and respect are of paramount importance.
