According to Wes Brown, Marcus Rashford has been sidelined by Ruben Amorim due to his failure to match the new Manchester United manager’s expectations.

Rashford has been excluded from four consecutive matchday squads under Amorim following his omission from the lineup for the match against Wolves on Boxing Day. The 27-year-old has acknowledged his readiness for a fresh challenge prior to the January transfer window, and it becomes increasingly probable that a move would be advantageous for both sides.

Amorim has publicly sought to maintain a balanced relationship with Rashford to preserve both possibilities, while the club is quietly receptive to bids for their forward. Nevertheless, a £40 million asking price and his £325,000 weekly salary will certainly render a transfer in January nearly unfeasible.

Former United defender Brown experienced Sir Alex Ferguson’s man-management tactics firsthand. He contends that Amorim is utilizing Rashford as a model for the remainder of the group to instill essential discipline.

“It is once more disappointing that he is not included in the squad,” Brown stated on Prime Video. The manager has established his conditions: ‘To be part of the squad, you must adhere to these criteria, whether about training, off the field, or otherwise.’

“Ultimately, that matter remains unresolved.” It will be a really sorrowful day if we see Marcus’s departure. Ultimately, alignment with the manager’s perspective is essential. I genuinely believe it is approaching Amorim’s optimal lineup. I believe this is the closest you will achieve at this moment.

Prior to the kick-off at Molineux on Boxing Day, Amorim acknowledged that he was nearing his ideal starting line-up, having implemented only two alterations from the team that suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

When inquired about the proximity to his optimal starting XI, the United manager responded: “I believe so, but I prefer not to utilize the term ‘the strongest XI’ as we consider every player. However, we endeavor to establish connections among the players by occasionally employing the same individuals, given the three-day interval between matches, which is significant.”

“Currently, with increased time, we can alter less, thus that is the emphasis.” Furthermore, our objective is to preserve our own identity. The third match of last week against Bournemouth was challenging for both us and our supporters; thus, we must improve our performance in set-pieces. We had numerous opportunities to score, and we must be more precise. We must enhance our performance.
