It is said that Manchester United is “preparing an offer” of £50 million plus extras to get Geovany Quenda for less than what Sporting CP wants to get for him.

Since he was named United manager, Amorim has been linked with a number of his former players at Sporting. Since he won the league with them in Portugal last year, it makes sense for the boss to bring some big names to Old Trafford.

A 1-1 draw with Ipswich was Amorim’s first game in charge of United. He has promised not to go after Sporting in January.

Besides that, though, he could choose to do so, and A Bola says that people are now more interested in young Quenda.

The 17-year-old can’t move to a new country until the summer, since he won’t be 18 until April 2025. This works out perfectly for Amorim, who doesn’t want to upset his old team but also doesn’t want to miss out either.

It looks like the manager does want to bring the player in, and United is “preparing an offer” for him, which shows that they are interested.

Even though TEAMtalk knows that Quenda has an £84 million (€100.9 million or $106.3 million) release clause, the story says that Sporting are “open to negotiating” a deal worth €60 million (£50 million or $62.9 million) plus bonuses.

So, it’s thought that the clubs can work out a deal for Quenda, which means that he might be able to play with the person who gave him his professional start.

“Don’t miss”: Seven players from the Primeira Liga who play for Ruben Amorim could sign with Manchester United.

Quenda wants to make a big move
United is interested, and Arsenal is linked to the player. TEAMtalk can confirm that some of the best teams in the world want to sign the winger.

Also, it’s clear that Jorge Mendes, Quenda’s lawyer, is trying to get him a big move.

It is thought that he wants to get the 17-year-old to play for a big club.

It is true that Quenda may be leaving Sporting for less than his release clause, which TEAMtalk also knows.

Man Utd round-up: Competition for Nkunku United have recently been mentioned with Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku. TEAMtalk can reveal that they are interested in him, as are some Bundesliga teams, such as Borussia Dortmund.

According to reports, Amorim has told the club’s board that he wants to bring in up to six new players to help his 3-4-3 system work. These players will be two center backs, a left back, a new midfielder, a striker, and a winger.

Roy Keane, who used to play for United, has also told the manager that he has “big problems,” starting with the fact that United doesn’t attack the goal enough.

Also, Ruud van Nistelrooy, who used to be United’s temporary manager, has been linked with a few jobs since leaving. The open position at Leicester is one of them, and he has been contacted about it.

The player was born in Guinea-Bissau in April 2007 and went to Portugal as a child. He joined the Amadora-based club Damaiense when he was eight years old.

After two years in Benfica’s school, he joined their fierce foes Sporting CP in 2021.

In February 2024, he started a Liga 3 game against Amora. At age 16, he was the youngest player to ever play for Sporting’s B team.

The left-footed right winger showed off his speed and passing skills, which caught the eye of Ruben Amorim, the manager of the first team.

“He’s very good and funny, and he can play a lot of different positions.” “He’s another choice,” Amorim said after putting him on the bench for a March 2024 Europa League game against Atalanta.

Quenda has also done well on the international stage. He was named to the Team of the Tournament for Portugal’s play at the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

He scored the first goal for Sporting against Porto in August 2024, making him the youngest player in the club’s history to score a goal (by 17 years and 95 days), beating out Ronaldo and Simao.

The teen then became the youngest player from Portugal to start in a Champions League game when Sporting beat Lille 2-0 in September 2024.

His name has also been called up to the Portugal senior team, and he didn’t play in their UEFA Nations League win over Scotland (2-1).

“The coaches of the national team always say that age doesn’t matter.” Roberto Martinez said that Quindía had a lot of personality, talent, and the ability to change.

“He’s a player who likes to make things hard for defenders.” The level of professional skill he has is not typical for a 17-year-old. He’s now on Sporting’s first team and has shown what a great person he is.

Since then, the forward (who can also play wing-back) has played twice for Portugal’s Under-21s and set up a goal in a 2-1 win over Andorra.
