Man Utd star has ‘never’ wanted to leave, as face-to-face talks begin over shock second transfer

Reports say that Harry Maguire has not even thought about leaving Manchester United this summer, while Scott McTominay could make a surprise move to a big club in Europe this summer.

West Ham United tried to sign both Maguire and McTominay from Manchester United last summer as part of a £60 million double deal led by David Moyes. Maguire was said to have been the player who was closest to joining West Ham, but the deal did not go through in the end.

Julen Lopetegui, who took over as manager of West Ham after Moyes, has changed their goals because of this.

Still, Maguire and McTominay are still linked with moves away from Old Trafford.

Maguire’s spot in the team is in danger now that Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt have been signed. If Sir Jim Ratcliffe completes a deal for Jarrad Branthwaite, another centre-back he wants, Maguire will fall even further down the list of candidates.

Ratcliffe has also been urged to sell Maguire and McTominay in order to make Manchester United’s finances better and make sure they can keep adding to the team without breaking the rules on profit and longevity.

Graeme Bailey, a person who works in the trade market, says that Maguire has “never” wanted to leave Manchester United this summer and has always seen his future at Old Trafford.

Even though Yoro and De Ligt have joined, Maguire still thinks he can be an “important player” for Erik ten Hag this season.

Man United deal news: new information on Maguire and McTominay
The star player for England will have a good chance of playing a lot if other center-backs get hurt. Yoro hurt himself and won’t be able to play for three months.

Since Maguire wants to stay, Manchester United will try to get rid of Victor Lindelof. Clubs in Italy and Turkey are interested in the 30-year-old, but his relatively high wage requests are making things difficult.

At the same time, news from Italy says that Napoli wants to make a surprise move for McTominay, who plays with Maguire.

Giovanni Manna, the sporting director of Napoli, is in England to talk about deals with several Premier League teams. It is said that he will meet with officials from Manchester United to try to make a deal for McTominay.

It has already been said that the big teams in Serie A will make a loan offer for McTominay. However, Ratcliffe doesn’t want this because he wants to get money for the player.

McTominay’s deal with Manchester United ends in June 2025, but the Red Devils can add another year to it if they want to. So, Manchester United can ask for a high price for the Scotland player.

Napoli has been told that they need to pay at least €30 million (£25.7 million) to get McTominay. Now Manna has to figure out if his team can afford the deal and if any players need to be sold first.

With the signings of McTominay and rising Brighton star Billy Gilmour, Napoli hopes to change the way their centre looks.

Gianluca Di Marzio says that the Italian team is getting closer to a deal with Brighton to get Gilmour.
